Koganeyu Onsen has long been famous as a scenic hot-spring cure. Its history dates back to around 1881, when settlers from Kumamoto discovered a hot spring gushing out from under a Katsura tree.
Simple sulfur spring (slightly alkaline, hypotonic, low-tension spring) with a reputation for being suitable for hot spring therapy.
It is a bountiful hot water that some believe widens capillary vessels and lowers blood pressure. Please enjoy the 100% spring water along with the seasonal scenery.
